Villanova, PA Interior Design Firm Unveils Sophisticated and
Captivating Dining Room

Larisa McShane & Associates has completed design work on an exquisite Main Line dining room replete with high-end furnishings and custom touches.

Villanova, PA (September 24, 2007) – Larisa McShane & Associates has completed design work on an exquisite Main Line dining room replete with high-end furnishings and custom touches.

Says principal and interior designer Larisa McShane, "This space incorporates many styles, mixing traditional and more modern elements with an Asian influence, and marries them beautifully to create an inviting entertainment area as well as a warm and comfortable gathering spot for the family."

As color was a primary concern, Ms. McShane built the room’s color scheme around her client’s favorite color: pomegranate red.  The square, as a geometric element, appears throughout the room in the drapery fabric, the console detail, the rug design and the artwork frame to unify the space.

When ready-made furnishings failed to satisfy her client’s needs, Ms. McShane custom-designed the solid teak wine cabinet, the halogen lighting to accent the furniture as well as the art work commissioned by artist Hong Hu.

      While the space oozes sophistication, it offers a relaxed kid- and pet-friendly environment with stain resistant fabrics and natural grass and linen wall coverings.  According to Ms. McShane, this aspect of the project encapsulates the value a trained designer can bring to a decorating project:   "An interior designer is able to bring a client’s vision to life while, at the same time, ensuring that the space not only looks good, but functions appropriately. Ms. McShane has been in the design industry for over 20 years and  has earned several awards, including the “Award for Excellence” from the American Society of Interior Designers as well as the “Engineering Illuminating Society Lighting Award”. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers as well as the International Furnishings and Design Association.
